City names New Police Chief

On Monday, May 22, 2023, City Council approved the City of El Campo’s new Police Chief, David Marcaurele, effective June 1, 2023. Chief Marcaurele brings over 40 years of demonstrated law enforcement and leadership experience, previously serving for the Sugar Land Police Department, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department, and most recently the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

Chief Marcaurele is a lifelong El Campo area resident, graduating from El Campo High School, completing the Police Academy at Wharton County Junior College, and then raising his own family here.
